___________________________________________________________________________ Lenore Barnett of Hendersonville, NC, a signature member Included in private and public collections all over the country, such as the Ella Carothers Dunnegan Gallery in Missouri, SeaTac Town Hall in Washington, and H&R Block and Carolina First Bank in North Carolina, she has had several solo shows in Washington State and both North and South Carolina. Primarily a landscape artist, she is highly motivated by strong dramatic contrasts in color, light and composition, usuallyxpreferring an intimate viewpoint, often including something of man's effect on the environment. Exciting color is probably the most unifying element of both her studio and plein air work. All of her works express the emotional thrill she gets from visual beauty and her need to interpret it. Her style is representational with a leaning towards impressionism. Although mainly self taught, Lenore credits the influence of her gifted husband Roy, who was a well-known painter of rural scenes in the Southwest, and participation in ongoing workshops of famous artists such as Charles Sovek, Skip Lawrence, Ned Mueller and many others. In addition, she constantly studies the works and writings of such additional contemporary painters as Richard Schmid, Paul Strisik, Charles Gruppe, Kevin MacPherson and many others. The Wickwire Gallery, Hendersonville, NC; Design Gallery, Burnsville, NC; Gabriel's Horn, Sevierville, TN; Art-Impact, Chicago, IL, Landscape Artists International, and barnettart.com represent Lenore. ___________________________________________________________________________ |
